It hasn’t been the best week in all honesty, I had a tooth extracted on Monday and since then I have been consuming vast amounts of pain killers in an attempt to feel next to normal.
Five days later I am still in agony, my gum looks like the area may be infected and I am now having to rinse with mouthwash each meal time and add antibiotics to my current drug intake. As you can imagine I haven’t done a great deal whilst in my current state so please excuse my rather dull #LittleLoves items for this week.
Read
Amongst the piles of presents that E received for Christmas were a set of Tony Ross’s ‘Little Princess’ books. E is rather taken with The Little Princess having already read ‘I Want My Potty’ numerous times throughout toilet training.
We have read a fair amount of these books throughout the week, usually at bedtime but also during the day whilst playing upstairs. E loves the pictures and will happily listen to the whole story without any fidgeting or interruptions which given her age is fairly impressive!
Watched
As you may have read in my previous #LittleLoves post, I recently watched Maleficent and following this fancied watching other Disney adaptations such as Cinderella.
The other night Paul and I made some time to sit down together and to watch Cinderella. We both greatly enjoyed the film, it was yet another awesome adaptation of a classic tale featuring a fantastic cast whilst encapsulating the simple magic from the original story.
Heard
I’ve been rather enjoying listening to some of the ‘old school classics’ whilst the kids have been out at Nursery and School. It’s only then that I can safely press play on what we once listened to, as most of the songs contain explicit lyrics which are best played very loudly without children present.
Included in my old school playlist is this particular song ‘Just So You Know’ which I still very much treasure. It takes me right back to when Paul and I first saw American Head Charge play live in Liverpool. Paul had his arms tightly wrapped around me as they sang this song, the atmosphere was electric!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my life now just as it is but there are times when I feel the need to let my hair down a little. Now that I am in my thirties relaxing usually consists of collapsing on the couch with a brew after catching up on the chores. It’s not what it was if you catch my drift…
I am no longer twenty-one years old, living for the weekend and rocking out whilst consuming vast quantities of alcohol. Paul and I still have late nights but they are usually spent running in and out of the kids bedrooms delivering drinks, offering cuddles when they are unable to sleep or simply ushering them back to their beds to GO TO SLEEP.
So occasionally when the kids aren’t here and I have a moment to myself, I ramp up the volume and curse like a sailor. It’s almost as good as a decent glass of wine and a good night out without the worry of what to wear or the hangover the morning after!
Made
As you may have read in my posts this week, E and I have been having a play with Aquabeads. We created quite a few different designs which are now proudly displayed on the kids doors.
Realising that E seems to really enjoy crafting I have also got out the bag of Simbrix, threading sets and bracelet making kits to create some random treasures together.
Wore
Each week E and I attend a play group together, the building where the session is held is well renowned for being bitterly cold and despite wearing numerous jumpers both E and I often feel chilly.
After having a search online I found this rather cute, fluffy, sleeveless jacket to help keep E snuggly and warm whilst playing. E’s new jacket arrived earlier this week and has since been worn like a second skin. E loves the fluff factor and that it has ears like a bear, we now refer to this jacket as her ‘bear suit’.
As for me, I haven’t worn anything particularly new other than the bits and pieces I was bought for Christmas. Unless you count changing my eyeliner from black to blue, there’s nothing much to report in terms of my wardrobe choices.
And Lastly
We finally finished decorating and furnishing our new office this week. I decided upon a shabby-chic, beach themed room to create a relaxing environment from which to work.
We haven’t had a space in which to sit down and work since having children. What was once our study then became J’s bedroom, we then moved house and didn’t have the room for an office so did without.
We had laptops placed either side of our beds and a printer which was setup in the garage. If we ever needed to print anything we then had to run back and forth to the freezing cold garage to collect the work or to reload the sodding printer with paper. It wasn’t ideal but we put up with it for almost five years so to actually have all of our office equipment in one warm, nicely decorated, purpose-built room is bliss!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

ah American Headcharge – I semi remember the name. I was really into slipknot and korn hehe. me and hubby met at a rock club so music always brings back fond memories for us too. I know what you mean too about letting your hair down. I miss my younger days sometimes. I’ve become old and grouchy :/ and life just seems the same old, day in, day out.
We saw Korn last month!
I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling rubbish and in pain 🙁 I hope it’s better today. Love the office makeover x
I hope you are feeling a bit better now Rachel. How cute does E look in that fluffy jacket if only we could get away with something like that. Chris and I often put music on from our younger days we didn’t know each other then but we love reminiscing old skool style ! x
Sorry about your tooth I hope that it gets better soon, can stand toothache. We all love watching Cinderella, I’m looking forward to Beauty and the Beast coming out this week.
Is it this week? Awesome!
Having space to work makes such a difference doesn’t it?
E looks super cute in that fluffy jacket! Perfect for this chilly weather we’ve got. xx
Thanks Morgana
