So here we are, it’s the final Friday of August thus it’s time to write up my #LittleLoves for the month that has quite literally flown by. How on earth is summer coming to an end already? I don’t feel mentally nor physically ready for autumn to arrive.
Read
Once again I’ve not read much of anything this month unless you count AQA GCSE course material. Despite promising myself that I’d get my head into a good book, I’ve just been too busy with all that’s been happening of late. I really ought to get myself some new books on the Kindle app once things settle down a little.
Watched
We spent the majority of the summer holidays staying with my Mum where we enjoyed watching a number of shows including the latest series of A Typical, Jeremy Clarksons Lochdown, Channel Fives Hot Tub Brits, ITVs Buffering and we spent an evening watching the film Kinky Boots which was a giggle.
Heard
Given that I’ve not been spending much time at home, I haven’t really had the chance to listen to all that much music. However Mum and I enjoyed an evening the square dancing to a live band that played an amazing cover of Florence and the Machines ‘You’ve Got The Love’. It’s an old-time favourite song and one which echoed the moment in time quite perfectly.
Made
This month I somehow found myself picking up a paintbrush and becoming ever so slightly addicted to painting by numbers. Mum very kindly bought E a ‘painting by numbers’ set as a gift for my daughter to keep her entertained whilst we stayed with her over the summer. However, it was quite a tricky picture for a seven-year-old thus I stepped in to offer my assistance and before I knew it, I was hooked.
August saw me baking my first birthday cake in our new kitchen, though I used a few stick-on decorations (which I technically class as cheating) it turned out pretty well in the end and tasted delicious and as they say, the proof is in the pudding.
Wore
Given that I’ve somehow found myself weighing almost two stone over what I should weigh, I’ve spent the majority of the summer wearing stretchy pants with floaty tops. I really need to get myself on a diet and start an exercise plan of some sort but I’m lacking the get-go.
And Lastly
After years of whining about our dated, eighties-style kitchen we finally did it- we’ve replaced and renovated our kitchen and it looks incredible. We’ve yet to put on all the kickboards and to replace a door but otherwise, we are 99% done!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this month’s #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
