As if summer is almost over, where the heck did the time go? Seriously, how can it be almost September?! I guess I’d best get with the times and give you the lowdown on August, here goes…
Read
I’d best hold my hands up and come clean; I’ve read next to nothing this month. Although I’ve got a few things stored and sat on my kindle ready to read, I just haven’t had the time nor inclination to bother with books.
Watched
Throughout August Paul and I have continued to watch ‘Call The Midwife’, though we are obviously snails when it comes to box-set-binging as we’re yet to complete series nine.
To celebrate our thirteenth anniversary, Paul very kindly gifted me ‘Last Christmas’ on DVD. It’s a film that I wanted to watch late last year, but due to the annual Christmas chaos, I never got around to viewing. I must say, it wasn’t quite the romantic story that I had expected and midway through the film, Paul blurted out a random guess as to how it may conclude and he was absolutely right… this spoilt it somewhat but still, it was worth a watch.
Heard
Earlier this month I put together a sort of summer playlist filled with upbeat, happy pop tunes including the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa, and other chart hits to keep us all smiling and it certainly seemed to do the trick.
Made
Having promised our princess that I’d make her a Barbie birthday cake, I set about the tricky task with icing in one hand and a glass of wine in the other… Much to my delight (and Es amazement) after the said cake had been completed I am pleased to say that it looked pretty good. I wouldn’t say that it was ‘Barbie brilliant’ but it did the job and tasted awesome.
Wore
Following being spoilt on my birthday, I’ve spent the past week or two enjoying the luxury of wearing new nightdresses and pajamas thanks – it’s been bliss!
And Lastly
Summer has come to an end all too quickly – Though we’ve had months off from school/ work it suddenly feels all too quick to come to an end. I’ve rather enjoyed homeschooling and being able to spend time with my family without the worries of work and such-like.
We may not have gone abroad nor done quite as much as we would usually do during the summer but we’ve had fun as a family and we’ve enjoyed some marvelous memories.
I hope that you and your loved ones are all happy, healthy, and are staying safe. Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this month’s #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Well done on the cake! I have always wanted to attepmt a two tier, but never actually tried! How much does your little girl look like you!? Hope your having a wonderful September so far!
Thanks – she is quite like her Mum I guess hehe
I’ve done two tiers most years for the kids and have even done a six tier for my folks 60th a few years back. I’m no cake expert so it can be done!
