August has certainly flown by, it’s been busy, busy, busy in our household with holidays, birthdays, celebrations, meals out, trips away and family visits. We’ve not really had much time to stop, that’s kind of how I like it though! Here’s some of my #LittleLoves from the past month…
Read
Forgive me for I have sinned, I haven’t read a single book this month. I’ve flicked through plenty of magazines, blog articles and such-like, but haven’t picked up a book as I’ve just been way too busy!
I have however been reading books to the children before bed; J is currently reading David Walliams ‘Gangsta Granny’ whilst E is reading the first book from Pip Bird’s ‘The Naughtiest Unicorn’ series.
Whilst I wasn’t a big fan of Walliams, I’m starting to warm to his work. He’s not a patch on Roald Dahl but he’s still entertaining and J seems to enjoy listening to his stories.
Watched
August has most definitely been the month for television! Not only was I able to binge-watch the entire seventh season of ‘Orange Is The New Black‘ but I was also able to do the same with season two of ‘Workin Moms‘. Both series were released within a day of each other and kept me entertained through the holidays’ thanks to Netflix and a hefty 4G connection.
Whilst I won’t give out any spoilers, I was pretty gutted that OITNB came to an end, it was certainly a gripping final season which I feel most fans will be pleased with.
We’ve also had a couple of trips to the cinema over the summer, including a birthday trip to watch the second Angry Birds movie with the kids. I have to say, this was a laugh-out-loud movie with jokes suited for all ages including the adults as Paul and I cackled throughout the entire film!
Heard
As it’s been summer, we’ve been enjoying listening to a range of summer dance songs including Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s ‘Señorita’, a stunning track which deserves the sheer amount of air time which it seems to be receiving at present.
Made
As always, I did my very best when it came to E’s birthday cake this year. Our little lady had requested a bunny cake and a bunny cake she was given! It took me just under half a day to bake and decorate this pretty, pink cake, it wasn’t all that difficult either.
Wore
I’ve recently been for an eye test which resulted in a new pair of specs and shades, which I collected earlier this month. I have since been getting used to wearing specs on a full-time basis and I’m quite enjoying being able to read without squinting!
And Lastly
As I said earlier, August has been the month of celebrations as we’ve had our twelfth wedding anniversary, my own birthday and most importantly, our daughters sixth birthday. Our daughter was spoilt rotten as we celebrated in style with the family at our local bistro, we later visited Alton Towers for the day to make it a weekend to remember.
I cannot believe our little lady is six years old already, she’s growing up so quickly! To add to that she has since lost her first tooth, the milestones sure fly by.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this months #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

I really need to watch the rest of OITNB. I think I managed up till the point of the prison riot, after one of the guards was killed? Its so long I can’t remember! I just could not get back into I thought the season following that killing was really slow, but I have heard so many good things since! That cake looks amazing! Well done!! August sounds like it was a month for celebrating! Hope you have a wonderful month ahead and thanks for linking up!
Thanks it certainly was
Gosh, that’s a lot of celebrations in one month – happy anniversary and happy birthday! The cake you made for your little girl looks amazing – I’ve never been able to master the art of making proper birthday cakes so always have huge admiration for anyone who does. Sounds like August was fun, I hope September is more of the same for you all.
It was great – September hasn’t been half bad so far!
