As the world remains in lockdown, we’ve been doing our very best to keep our little world as normal as can be. Who am I kidding? Nothing is normal right now…
Without further whining or waffling, here are a few of my #LittleLoves from the month gone by…
Read
Given that we are in lockdown you’d expect that I’d have plenty of time to read books but that’s not quite the case. If I’m not busy homeschooling the kids then I’m either running back and forth to my folks to provide care or I’m busy on the phone talking to some consultant, nurse, secretary, or someone or other regarding drugs, doses or treatment plans… it’s endless!
I have however taken a little time to research my recent obsession – tarot reading. If I’ve not been busy actually carrying out readings using the cards then I’ve been reading and researching using various online and printed guidebooks. I know you might think of tarot reading as rather kooky, eccentric or odd perhaps but to be honest, I couldn’t care less what people think – it’s something which I have found distraction within, a sense of peace and some sort of guidance from and for that I am truly grateful.
Watched
With the soaps being almost axed, I’m down to only two episodes of Eastenders and Home & Away per week, which I’m spreading across the week to eek out the entertainment.
I have however found a few box sets and shows which have helped to ease my evenings a little including BBC’s Fleabag (which we have now completed watching), Sky’s ‘Breeders‘ and channel four’s ‘Gogglebox’.
Heard
As I don’t really wish to look back upon 2020, I’ve tried not to listen to anything out of the ordinary as I’d rather not hear a song five years down the line and think back to this current time. When it comes to music, I have therefore stuck to my old faithful favourites including the likes of Tori Amos, London Grammar, and Freya Ridings.
I have however been subjected to the not-so-sultry sounds of Led Zeppelin’s early work following my Dad very kindly being sent a personal video message from the main man and lead singer, Robert Plant. See the above video to watch their live show which my Dad attended from the front row back in the 70s – I’ll give Led Zep their due, their music still rocks even to the present day!
Made
We’ve all been quite creative over the past month or two – E has spent hours placing Hama beads onto templates for Paul and I to iron, J has busied himself with endless animations and Paul spent literally days putting together an elaborate easter-egg hunt for the kids.
I, on the other hand, have been busy baking birthday cakes, creating homeschool worksheets, fancying up facemasks from headscarves and sanitary towels (don’t worry I’ve got a proper mask now), putting together my own tarot guide and of course writing the odd blog post or two…
Wore
Other than a face mask and gloves I’ve not worn anything really out of the ordinary. It’s not as if I can go clothes shopping even if I wanted to… I have however been wearing my new mood ring which I adore and have tried my best where possible to wear a smile.
And Lastly
This month saw Paul celebrate thirty-seven years of age, there was also Easter of course. Though we’ve been locked inside, we’ve still made sure to celebrate the occasions making at least a few memories for the future, though I’ll happily admit that living in the same four walls for months on end is beginning to eek at my soul somewhat.
I hope that you and your loved ones are able to STAY INSIDE, to stay safe and that you are all keeping healthy.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this month’s #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves, then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.
