I’m not a big fan of September as it’s always a busy month especially with the return to school, to work, and with the darker nights drawing in. This year has been no exception as we’ve been inundated with appointments, activities, occasions, and events to attend all of which we’ve managed and made the most of though it has been tiring. Without further ado, here are some of the things that I have #LikedandLoved throughout September.
Back To School
It was a staggered start for the kids this year as they returned to school within a week of each other. Despite having spent six weeks lazing around over the summer, we soon got into the swing of our regular routine and the kids have both made a great start in their new school year.
Mooching Around Manchester
Earlier this month I enjoyed a girly weekend in Manchester with my Mum and E in as we spent a full day shopping prior to watching George Ezra at the AO Arena. E was introduced to the joys of Afflecks Palace (an amazing shop which sells an array of peculiar paraphernalia) and Primark where we shopped till we dropped. It was great to get away and to spend some time just ‘us girls’, though we were all exhausted upon our return.
George Ezra
Whilst in Manchester my Mum and I took E to her first gig, where she watched George Ezra play live at the AO Arena. With her ear defenders at the ready, E was made comfortable in the gods of the arena where we spent a few hours dancing, singing, and enjoying a great night.
Autumns arrival
With autumn’s arrival comes the darker mornings, darker nights, and of course – it won’t be long now before the clocks fall back. Though I’m not a huge fan of dark nights, I love the crisp autumn air, the crunchy autumn leaves, the gorgeous golden tones, and of course there’s Halloween and for me, that’s almost as good as Christmas!
The Bake Off is back
The Great British Bake Off has finally returned to our screens and though it airs on Tuesdays, we tend to save our watching for a Friday night when we snuggle up with snacks and drinks to enjoy each episode.
Getting back into Gogglebox
Gogglebox has made a welcome return to our screens this September and with the dark nights drawing in, I’m rather enjoying staying cosy and comfortable whilst enjoying a variety of television, especially Gogglebox.
Gutting the garage
We’ve been intending to gut and clear our garage for many years now though have never really had the motivation nor the time to do so. Having struggled with a lack of space for my treadmill, my husband and I set aside a few hours in which we completely emptied our garage, filled many many bin bags, repainted the floor, and eventually reorganised the entire space in order to fit as needed.
Though I’d like to paint the walls, it can wait for the time being as I’m quite happy with having the space tidy, organised, and clear of clutter.
Party Central
E, our social butterfly has enjoyed an array of birthday parties this month including a trip to Jump Rush with her cousin and a day out to a caravan site to celebrate her friend’s tenth birthday where I also let my hair down a little and found myself at the bottom of a bottle of wine – oops!
September Snuggling
Autumn’s all about getting cosy and comfortable as the temperatures drop and the darker nights draw in. We’ve made the most of the darker nights by enjoying family films including Disney’s Pinnochio, Enchanted, and Prime’s latest release; The Grand Tour – A Scandi Flick.
Time on the treadmill
Now that our treadmill has its own dedicated space we are finally able to leave it upright, plugged in, and ready for action thus the kids and I have been able to gain some indoor exercise whilst also watching various shows and listening to a range of Music. It’ll certainly be well used by myself and J as he ventures on gaining his Duke of Edinburgh certificate later next year.
