So here we are at the end of September and I won’t lie – it’s not been the easiest nor the most pleasant month but still, I’ll do my best to list a few of the things which I guess that I have #LikedandLoved over the past thirty days.
Starting School
Both J & E moved up a stage as E transferred from the infants to the juniors, whilst J moved from being a junior to a senior school student. It feels weird seeing my ‘not so little man’ dressed in an entirely different uniform, catching school buses and all that malarkey. They are both growing up so fast and despite the ‘covid chaos’ they’ve rather enjoyed returning to school.
New Starts
It’s been new starts all round in this household as Paul changed his role last month and I’ve just started working in a new setting. I had originally signed up to work full time but after almost a month, I realised it was perhaps a little too ambitious with juggling childcare, the daily school run, and caring for my Dad. I’m now working three days a week and I feel far better for it as otherwise, I was spreading myself too thinly and possibly heading for burnout.
Tarot Treats
Having ordered the second edition of The Spacious Tarot way back in March, it’s felt like I’ve waited forever but this deck was certainly worth the wait as it is simply stunning. I also received The Rainbow Heart Tarot to review earlier this month and it’s since become one of my ‘top five favourites’.
New Slippers
I’m a big fan of bedroom athletics slippers as they are the warmest, most comfortable slippers that I have ever worn and though they last for a while, over the years I’ve gone through quite a few pairs. Last Christmas my husband very kindly bought me a brand new pair of grey ‘bedroom athletic’ slipper boots which were sadly short-lived as our blumming basset took a shine to said slippers and very kindly shredded them for me… Needless to say, I wasn’t best pleased and was rather relieved to receive a replacement pair a fortnight or so ago.
New Boots
September has obviously been the month for footwear as I also treated myself to a brand new pair of Rocket Dog boots for work purposes. I do love a good pair of boots and whilst I tend to live in Uggs during the winter, they aren’t waterproof and therefore not very practical for when out and about.
Television Normality
I’ll be honest, the only thing which actually annoyed me about living through lockdown was the termination of television shows. I’m a creature of habit and don’t like being without my daily dose of soaps. This month saw three of my favourite shows (Eastenders, Gogglebox and The Bake Off) return to our screens and suddenly things feel far more ‘normal’.
Bike Rides
Though E isn’t entirely keen on riding her bike as she lacks confidence when it comes to her balance, we’ve been encouraging her to practice riding around our cul-de-sac with our assistance, and this month despite her ab-dabs, tears, and tantrums, E has finally gained some balance and is so almost riding her bike without stability assistance.
Our Beautiful New Bench
Following the completion of work upon the driveway and front lawn (or what may now be classed as a front yard perhaps), we have had a beautiful love seat made so that we can sit at the front of the house with a cup of coffee and watch the kids as they scoot, go-kart and ride their bikes around the cul-de-sac.
Getting Cracking On Christmas
With only three months to go until the big day, I’ve jumped the gun and made a start upon the Christmas shopping. I’m now in the process of making further lists of gift ideas to purchase over the next month or two and with a little luck I’m hoping to get everything sorted well before the big day.
Autumn Has Arrived
As you may have read in my past posts- Autumn is my favourite season of the year and given that the leaves are now scattered upon the floor, autumn has officially arrived. I’m a little sad that Halloween and Bonfire Night won’t be quite what they once were but I’m hoping that with a little effort we can still celebrate the events, only a little differently this year
Thanks again for reading my blog – I hope that you enjoyed reading what I have #LikedandLoved throughout September.
