There may only be thirty days in September but this month feels as if it’s dragged on forever. I’m not sure whether it’s the wet weather, the darker nights or the fact that routine has returned but I’m completely and utterly exhausted!
September may have been slightly stressful and certainly very busy but it’s also been enjoyable. Here are a few of the things which I have #LikedandLoved throughout September.
Back To School
Following a lengthy, six-week, summer holiday, the kids made a return to school. E started her final year of the infants whereas J began his final year of Primary School. How on earth is my little man in year six already?!
A Birthday Bash
Earlier this month my family and I went out for a meal at the local Italian to celebrate my Mother-in-law’s sixty-fifth birthday. It was great to get together although after eating far too much garlic bread, pasta and pizza I was fit to burst!
Russell Kane
My husband and I went out to Kendal to watch Russell Kane last night – as expected he was hilarious and by the end of the evening, my ribs ached from laughing so much. We’ve watched Russell’s videos online for some time now thus when tickets popped up for sale, it was a no brainer.
Wonderful Windows
Our entire house needs new windows putting in. Over the past year or so we’ve had new patio doors, a new back door, and a new front door installed. We finally had our bay window replaced earlier this week and I cannot get over how much of a difference a new window can make to a room.
We now need to replace a further six windows and then we can put our full focus upon fitting a new kitchen and getting jobs around the house done and dusted.
Marvelous Massage
Every girl deserves a little pampering from time to time (every few weeks in my case!). I’m so lucky that my good friend Amber works just around the corner from us as a decent massage is literally minutes away.
I enjoyed a super, stress-busting, Swedish massage earlier this month and have already booked in for a repeat treat!
New Hair
It’s been months since I’ve had my hair cut, I was so fed up of having to straighten and style my lengthy locks each morning that I’d started wearing a regular Mum-bun! It was no use trying to grow my hair, it’s far too thick and hard work to manage, thus I went for the chop and feel far better for it!
Kitchen Design
At some point within the next year, Paul and I are hoping to get a new kitchen installed. We’ve spent time drawing up ideas and having spoken to two companies regarding our plans, they have since created 3D renders which we are hoping to make a reality in the near future. It felt great to finally get our ideas together and to put them into print.
Fifty Shades of Grey
After putting up with battered, old benches, fences and sheds for the past however many years, Paul finally got around to painting our garden. As grey seems to be ‘on trend’ and on offer, we decided to go all out and paint the lot!
My Little Mermaid
Our little lady recently passed her stage-two swimming certificate and has now started her level-three lessons. E is making super progress in her swimming and I’m really enjoying watching her in the water each week from the comfort of a hot tub!
Independence Day
Following starting the new school year, J asked as to whether I’d allow him to walk home with his friends. I wasn’t entirely keen on the idea of J walking home, don’t get me wrong – I trust him but I’m his Mother so I just cannot help but worry.
E meanwhile was invited for a day out with her bestie, it was another first for us as E has been to friends houses to play but has never gone out for the day with anyone other than ourselves or family. E was spoilt rotten and had an amazing day out, which marks another milestone for our little lady.
My kids are growing up so fast – they are such independent little people and I am so proud of them both.
