It’s officially the last day of September and once again time for me to write-up the things that I have ‘Liked and Loved’ throughout the past month.
It’s been a busy month for many reasons, I for one feel as if I’ve barely had time to breathe there’s been that much going on, here’s hoping October is a little less ‘chaotic’ but given the amount of bookings that we have for various gigs, parties and such-like that is highly doubtful!
So without further ado, here are a few of the things that I have ‘Liked and Loved‘ throughout September 2017.
Our Little Lady Started School
Earlier this month our little lady joined her big brother and headed onwards and upwards to Primary School. E has now completed two weeks of afternoon sessions, one week of morning sessions and her first official week of ‘full days’ in the Reception class and other than the odd wobble she seems fairly settled into her new routine.
Mixing Music
Having felt the urge to give mixing a shot I spent hours scouring eBay for a deal on digital decks. I eventually bagged myself a bargain well a sort of bargain considering the price that I would have paid for a set of spanking new decks.Â
To cut a long story short my decks finally arrived part way through the month and I have since been offered a few tips and tricks by a fabulous friend to get me started. I’m really enjoying mixing and whilst anything takes a certain amount of time and effort to learn I feel that I’m beginning to get the hang of it and with time and practice comes perfection right?
J’s Progress With Reading, Writing & Spelling
J has never really enjoyed reading or writing, neither has he ever been particularly amazing at spelling yet as parents we continue to encourage and to nurture his interest in Literacy. Having started year four earlier this month JÂ has once again become accustomed to regular homework and as a result he seems to making massive improvements with his reading, writing and thankfully spelling.
It’s funny how as humans we naturally seem to sway towards a particular set of subjects and to shy away from others. J is fantastic at all things Maths, Science and ICT orientated yet has never seemed interested in Literacy or The Arts which seems almost alien to me being a Musician, writer and arty farty kinda gal.
Blog On
As you will no doubt have read elsewhere on my blog, last week I attended the ‘Blog On’ Xmas 2017 conference at Old Trafford in Manchester. I learnt loads whilst there and had a fantastic day meeting up with other bloggers, vloggers and brands all whilst collecting numerous samples and goodies which are tucked away ready to become stocking fillers in a few months time!
Weight Loss Continuation
Over the past six months I’ve continued to gradually shed the pounds and whilst I may have dropped a dress size I am far from done with my diet. I am no longer shy of the scales and after daily weigh-ins I have found that by further reducing portion sizes I am now well on my way to achieving my target weight without having to line the likes of Slimming Worlds or Weight Watchers pockets.
Loving Autumn
As corny as it may sound, I flipping love Autumn! The faint smell of chimney smoke wafting in the air, the nights as they begin to draw in earlier, the thick harvest soups, the hot coffees sipped whilst watching the rain drops race each other down the patio windows, the crisp autumn leaves crunching underfoot, the whisper of the ‘C’ word by which I am referring to the upcoming festive season not the ‘c’ word which people may unknowingly whisper as I walk by.
There’s something magical about this time of year, Halloween isn’t too far away neither is Bonfire Night with it’s treacle toffee delights. Following that we will be on the countdown to Christmas much to kids delight.
I’ve never been a huge fan of Twitter but over the past month I’ve found myself ‘tweeting’ more so than I have used Facebook! I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of the changes concerning extending character length but overall I feel that Twitter is currently my preferred social media platform in terms of blogging related business.
I have slowly started to build followers and whilst I’m not nutty about numbers it would be really nice to hear from you should you fancy following me.
Facebook Live
I’ve spent months umming and arring as to whether I should make a return to Vlogging either on YouTube or elsewhere. I had noticed that both Facebook and Instagram now feature ‘live stories’ options but hadn’t actually considered making much use of these until a favoured celebrity of mine first began ‘Live’ posting most days and I then attended a session whilst at Blog On focused entirely upon ‘Facebook Live’.
I have since made a start on creating short videos which I have shared in a closed group to practice my ‘Live Video’ skills and have had great fun doing so. With a little luck and practice I may well start sharing ‘live videos’ on my Facebook Page shortly as part of my blog.
Lush
After spending hours on end desperately trying to rectify a friends ‘Facebook’ error I was very kindly given a lovely bag of Lush products as a thank you for my time. I am a massive fan of Lush, there’s nothing better than kicking back with a bath bomb and a Baileys. It’s been donkies years since I last made a Lush order but having being spoilt with my recent Lush treats I will sure to keep a decent stock of smellies for future use.
Autumnal Television
Not only do I love the autumn leaves and colours but I also really enjoy the change in Television schedule as programs such as ‘The X Factor‘ and ‘Cold Feet‘ make a return to entertain us as we lounge by the fire.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed reading what I #LikedAndLoved in September.
If you fancy sharing some of your own #LikedAndLoved points from the month then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what you #LikedAndLoved this month!

Sounds like a great month lovely. I am so jealous that you went to Blog On – I really need to attend a blogging conference and this one sounds fab, it is also not far from me.
A Autumn fan here too, definitely the best time of the year – it is just so pretty. I don’t watch much tv but I love Cold Feet!
Have a great October! #likedandloved
Thanks Natalie, you too xxx
My little girl has just started reception too, it’s so cute seeing them in their uniforms for the first time, isn’t it? #likedandloved
It sure is !!!
I’ve found Twitter great for helping to grow my blog and for general blog community awesomeness. Have you tried any chats?

It sounds like you have had an amazing month! I’m so glad your children are getting along well at school now that the new school year has started. I too really like the autumn and autumn TV shows! I hope you have a great October. Also I hope you do get the courage to do some Facebook lives- I bet you’d be great at it!
Thanks I just need more followers or I’ll be speaking to myself !
Sounds like a fab month! I also love Autumn! Love the darker days and the fact that Bonfire night is fast approaching. Not keen on Halloween – especially this year as everyone will be dressed as a clown won’t they?! I’ve not done many Facebook lives but I do Instastories all day long! 🙂
I may well try instastories as the step between then x
Congrats on the weight loss, I am epically failing at that at the moment and I can’t see going to America for a week helping ha! Lovely that your little one is happy at school 🙂 Thanks for joining in with #LikedandLoved again!
