October is one of my most favoured months of the year, I adore Autumn and all that goes with and within the season. Here are a few of the things which I have ‘Liked and Loved’ throughout this past month.
Creepy Costumes & Halloween
The kids were so excited about Halloween this year, they love to dress up as ghouls, ghosts, witches and wizards. They took next to no time to get into their ghoulish gear ready for trick and treating around the local area.
Decorating
There’s plenty of decorating that Paul and I need to get done around the house. That can wait for now though as our living room, kitchen and hallway are currently covered in Halloween themed decorations. I love decorating the house for Halloween! Having seen some of the fabulous efforts which some of the other houses around the area put into their outdoor decor, I now feel the urge to look into further decor for Halloween in the future.
Pumpkin Carving
Each and every year we sit the kids down and spend time designing, creating and carving pumpkins to hang outside of the house for Halloween. This years pumpkins even included the monstrous Mike Wozowski!
Happy Howl-a-ween
Should you happen to follow me on Instagram then you may have seen our beautiful basset Maisy dressed as witch. I always fancied dressing up the dog for Halloween but with our previous basset being so old and frail, I didn’t see it as fair. This year though I decided to ‘dress up the dog’ who became the star of the show as we took her out trick or treating.
Half Term & Family Fun
Having spent seven weeks running around like a headless chicken, I finally got the chance to kick back and to relax for a while over the half term break. We didn’t do nor plan to do an awful lot, it was just nice to be able to spend time together without the daily rush and routine.
We didn’t stay in for the entire week; the kids spent quite a lot of time out in the garden, they also went along to the local Bouncy Castle Madness where they played together perfectly! E also went along to a party where she had great fun scooting about, all in all they enjoyed their time off, it was a much-needed and well-deserved break for us all!
It’s All Greek To Me
Earlier this month our son J took part in a ‘Greek Day‘ at school, he chose to dress as Zeus ,the God of Lightning (and the King of the Gods). We got a little carried away with accessorising said costume as Paul cut and created J an over-sized lightning bolt complete with LED lights!
New Nails
Having finally grown my own nails to a decent length, I recently had new ‘Halloween themed’ gel and glitter applied. I’m not entirely sure whether this is black, blue, green, purple or red. It depends what angle you happen to look at my nails from, either way I adore my new nails!
Cute Cuts
After having had our hair cut back in July, both E and I were well-overdue a hair cut. I decided to lose the length and return to my regular bob with some blond and red high-lights to lift the look. E then followed suit, only without the dye. It was the first time that she has ever had her hair straightened and I too have since straightened her hair which was a little daunting at first but how cute does our little lady look?!
Kid Free Time
It’s not often that Paul nor I have time to ourselves, especially so as a couple. A couple of weeks back my folks very kindly had the kids for the night which enabled us to get out for a few hours. We kept things simple and went to our local where we let loose and danced till the early hours.
Awesome Autumn
The weather is suddenly far cooler than earlier this month, despite the sudden dip in temperature we have enjoyed some of the most awesome, autumn days. I love the colours, the smells, the festivities and the feel of this time of the year.
