I’m not a huge fan of November, not only is it one of the most miserable months of the year weather-wise, it’s historically been the month for tragedies and loss within our family, and whilst I’d hoped to avoid such sorrows this year, sadly that’s not the case. Looking on the brighter side, which is difficult to do with all the short days and lengthy dark nights, here are a few of the things that we, as a family, have #LikedandLoved throughout the month.
Fun Watching Fireworks
Bonfire Night was thankfully a clear, dry evening and we celebrated the event by attending two different fireworks displays both of which were fantastic.
Perfect Poppies
November is the month of remembrance and there have been some beautiful displays of poppies around the local area, one of which I managed to capture with my camera.
Great Gaming
After a two-year wait, my son couldn’t wait to get his hands on a copy of Bendy and the Dark Revival (the latest Bendy and the Ink Machine game) which was finally released onto Steam Gaming earlier this month and he’s already completed from start to finish. Meanwhile, to distract myself from the various stresses in my life of late, I’ve been busy playing Disney’s Magical World 2 on my Nintendo Switch.
The Bake Off Final
November was a rather wet, soggy, and cold month in terms of weather thus we spent many evenings snuggled on the sofa as a family watching various shows, including the Great British Bake Off which has now come to an end but was an entertaining watch.
Saving Pennies On Pictures
The school photographer did the rounds and very kindly sent me the kids’ photos, neither of which were particularly well shot nor printed thus I decided to save my pennies and to take and print my own which turned out really well.
Craft & Design
With the dark nights having drawn in, the kids have been staying warm and dry whilst entertaining themselves with various crafts including weaving and crotchet. E was quite the dab hand at weaving and made herself a ‘fire-themed’ mat which now has pride of place on her desk.
Remastering Mixing
It’s been ages since I last attempted ‘mixing’. Having blown the cobwebs from my decks, I attempted putting together a few tunes for my little lady to dance along to this month, and whilst I’ll never be an expert DJ, it’s still heaps of fun giving it a go.
104 Great Years
We celebrated the ‘Queen of the families’ big birthday this month as Nana Margy (the kid’s Great Grandmother) turned the grand age of 104! We visited with gifts, cards, and such-like and were sure to get some photos of the day to mark the occasion.
The Dickensian Festival
Due to the pandemic and a year or two of bad weather, it’s been a few years since we last went to the local Dickensian Festival. Thankfully the weather remained cold, dry, and perfectly winterlike for this year’s Dickensian Festival thus we took the kids along to look at the stalls, enjoy a few treats, and of course, go on some rides whilst Paul and I supped our mulled wines.
Winter Woolenwear
With Christmas just around the corner, the kids were in need of new Christmas jumpers as they have various events to attend, all of which seem to require some sort of festive fashion. I love nordic-style festive fashionwear!
