May has dashed by in the blink of an eye, time sure seems to whizz by when you’re a busy parent of two! Here are a few of the things that I have #LikedandLoved throughout the month.
Let There Be Light
Having finished painting and decorating the living room, we ordered the ceiling and wall lights to match our geometric theme which have since arrived and been fitted. I’m really pleased with the finished look, though I’m considering buying a geometric lamp or uplighter to add further light to the corner of our living room.
The Leopard Look
I’ve been through countless pairs of slippers over the years as I quite literally live in my slipper boots 247. This month I replaced my beloved but rather battered cream slipper boots with these super cute, leopard-print slipper boots from Bedroom Athletics.
New office chair
Our pretty little office chair died a death earlier this month, sharding metal splinters all over our office carpet, and was therefore promptly placed in the local skip. We have since replaced this with a chunky, cream, adjustable, swivel chair which looks great in the room and is super comfy to sit in whilst working at the desk.
The Terrible Teens
J turned the grand age of thirteen this month and to celebrate him becoming a teenager he was spoilt rotten with gifts galore, including a much-wished-for PlayStation and the latest Spiderman game. What more could a thirteen-year-old wish for?
Blackpool
To further celebrate J’s birthday we took a family trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where both J & E rode their first rollercoasters. The weather, thankfully, remained dry and we had a great day out.
Jubilee Ready
Our little lady dressed up in red, white, and blue this month to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with her class friends – she looked amazing and can’t wait to wear her outfit all over again at further parties this week coming.
Booked Gary Meikle
Though we’ve seen him perform live twice already, I couldn’t help but click ‘buy’ when I saw Gary Meikle’s tour tickets for sale earlier this month. Gary is one of the funniest, most down to earth comedians I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching and I cannot wait to see him perform again in Carlisle in March 2023.
Justice For Johny
Though I don’t usually tend to follow or pay much attention to the lives of celebrities, Johny Depp AKA Jack Sparrow holds a particularly special place in my heart as my son J was once obsessed with Pirates and therefore adores Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean films, as do we all in this household. Johnny Depp brought Jack Sparrow to life and without Johny, there is no Captain Jack…
Paul and I have spent the past month avidly following, watching, and supporting Johny Depp in his court case against Amber Heard. Though I’d happily write realms explaining my views on this case, it’s plainly obvious for the World to see, watch, and judge for themselves.
Here’s hoping that Johny gets the justice that he so rightly deserves and to support his case Paul and I have worn our Pirate ‘Mega Pint’ t-shirts with pride.
Our Little Lighthouse Award Winner
Our little lady was once again awarded the Lighthouse Award at school – it was perfect timing as it fell on J’s birthday thus we were able to have a double celebration in Blackpool. E is making amazing academic progress, I couldn’t be a prouder parent.
Half term
We are currently enjoying a much-deserved half-term break prior to the last seven weeks of school before the summer holidays. Though we haven’t got a huge amount planned, we’ve already cleaned out and refilled the hot tub, enjoyed walks out with my Mum, and we’re hoping to participate in a few Jubilee celebrations throughout the week. I would like to have painted either our bedroom or E’s this week but I don’t want to push it too far – I’d rather enjoy the time to relax before summer.
