So here we are at the end of March already and goodness, what a busy but brilliant month it has been! With just two days to go until the Easter holidays commence, I’m looking forward to being able to wind down and relax a little for the next fortnight, though I’ve got plenty planned including a few day trips alongside painting and wallpapering the living room, so it might not be all that relaxing after all. Here are a few of the things that I have #LikedandLoved during March 2022.
World Book Day
World Book Day is always high on my daughter’s list of days that looks forward to, especially as it usually means getting a brand new outfit to add to her ever-growing collection of fancy dress clothing. Over the past year or so E has become quite the Harry Potter fan, she’s watched most of the films and is midway through reading the books which she listens to her Dad read each and every night. E was therefore delighted when it was announced that her school would be celebrating World Book Day by hosting a Harry Potter themed dressing-up day. E knew exactly who she wanted to be and so without further ado, may I introduce you to E as Hermione Granger.
Tori Amos at the Manchester Apollo
I clearly remember both my husband and I have our phones, laptops and everything at the ready to buy tickets the very minute that Tori Amos announced her European tour. Time sure has flown by as this month Paul and I once again drove down to the Manchester Apollo to watch Tori play live. We arrived a little early and were incredibly blessed to be able to listen to her soundcheck, during which we were given a very special code to take to the merchandise desk, where I was handed a signed poster by the lady herself.
As always, Tori gave me goosebumps and brought overwhelming emotional tears to my eyes as she took to the stage and rocked the Apollo. It doesn’t matter how many times I see Tori play live, it’ll never be enough as I want to watch her again and again… she’s just incredible.
Mums’ Birthday Lunch
To celebrate my lovely Mum’s sixty-sixth birthday, I took both my Mum along with my Mother-in-law to a local restaurant where we enjoyed mini beery beef filled Yorkshire puddings, fresh sausage rolls, quiche, sandwiches, buns, cakes, biscuits, scones, coffee, tea, and a whole array of delicious treats.
Mother’s Day
I was spoilt rotten on Mother’s Day with a beautiful bouquet of roses, a fabulous new ‘Mums Diary’, and two lovely cards from the kids. We enjoyed the most stunning sunshine and spent the day visiting our Mums/ Nana on both sides of the family to pass on our well-wishes and gifts.
The Clocks Sprang Forward For Spring
The lighter nights have at last arrived as the clocks sprang forward for spring last weekend. I do so love the spring weather, the lighter evenings, and the fabulous flowers which are blooming almost everywhere at present.
New Washing Machine
Our washing machine, unfortunately, died a death this month and rather than messing around trying to repair motors, brushes or whatever else, my husband selected and arranged the delivery of a brand new Candy washing machine the following day and hey presto – we are back in action!
Pairing Passions
As you are most likely aware, I am a massive fan of Tori Amos and I’m also a bit of a divination diva thus love my Tarot cards (which I have far too many decks of but whose counting?). What better than combining your two passions to create the perfect product? This month I received exactly that, a stunning, very special Tori Amos Tarot deck from the incredibly talented Megan.
Dream Decks
Though I have tried to thin down my ever-growing collection of Tarot and Oracle decks, it’s just no use. There are just too many decks that I love the look of, aspire to acquire and have purchased over time. After spotting the original Kick Starter version of the Prairie Majesty Oracle on Nina’s (from ShuffleTarot) YouTube channel and drooling over the cards, I then saw the price along with shipping and had to reconsider. I later discovered that HayHouse were planning to produce a mass-market, much cheaper and accessible version of this deck which I preordered and received earlier this month.
Not only has the Prairie Majesty Oracle now arrived, but the Spread Machine Oracle is also now in my possession. The Spread Machine oracle is another Kick Starter deck that I’d spotted some time ago but simply couldn’t justify the price with shipping from the USA thus was delighted to buy via a UK Facebook Tarot sale a week or two ago.
It certainly is a month for ‘dream decks’ especially with the Tori Amos Tarot (see above) and a few others that I know are now on the way…
Back To The Burgers & Spring Strolls
Now that the lighter nights and spring weather have made a welcome appearance, we’ve been enjoying sunshine strolls with my Mum and the dogs each Saturday followed, of course, by obligatory burgers from the van in the square. It’s great to be able to get out and enjoy some fresh air!
Smashing School Reports & Perfect Parents Evenings
I’m one super proud parent this month.; J brought home a smashing school report and we then attended E’s parent’s evening, where we were given nothing but praise for our gorgeous little girl. Both J & E are doing so very well and I am incredibly proud of them both.
