I can barely believe that it’s already that time of the month to sit and reflect upon the things which I have #LikedandLoved. We seem to be cruising through the calendar at such speed that I’m scarcely able to tell the days apart! Here’s a few of the things which I have #LikedandLoved this month:
Hats Off For World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day, my children were asked to create hats based upon their favourite stories, authors and books. E decided she wanted to be Mary Poppins whereas J opted to decorate a top hat with his very own comic creations. Both J & E’s hats took quite some time to put together but they were well worth the effort.
We’re Set For Summer
We’ve been meaning to book a holiday since the new year, yet neither Paul or I could find anything that we fancied. Earlier this month I came across an offer for a week’s stay in a four-star, all-inclusive hotel with a water park on site situated in Hersonissos, Crete. I bit the bullet and made a booking, although it’s been quite some time since I’ve visited Greece or any of the Greek islands – I’m quite looking forward to it!
Super Swimming & Spa Sessions
I’ve been intending to sign E up for swimming lessons for almost a year now. Sadly, our local pool was demolished therefore leaving me with no choice but to find lessons further-afield. E recently made a start upon her sessions at the Nuffield Health Centre, which I later realised had it’s very own jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which I’ve spent each week watching E from. It’s far comfier and far more relaxing to sit soaking in the jacuzzi whilst watching E swim rather than stood outside peering through a window.
Brand New Bedding
Every now and then my husband and I go through the house contents and do our best to update what we can. This month we decided to ditch our daughters duvet and to replace it with a brand new, fluffy, feather duvet which she seems to be delighted by. We have also replaced all our pillows with chunky, feather, duck and down alternatives for a comfy and cosy nights sleep.
Polka Spots
I’ve always been a fan of polka dots – my kitchen is currently decorated with red and white polka accessories therefore it seemed sensible to continue the trend in my wardrobe. This month I’ve picked up three or four polka-dot purchases which I hope to wear over the next month or so once the weather warms up a little.
Perfect Parents Evening
Having the most awesome kids on this planet, parents evening is almost always a pleasure to attend. This week therefore it was no surprise to hear such wonderful words being said about our delightful duo, I truly couldn’t be a prouder parent.
E’s First Play Date
Earlier this week E attended her first, official playdate. I’m not sure who was more nervous – E or myself. Either way, she had the most fantastic time and I made a mental note to tick yet another milestone off the list as our little lady is growing up.
Being a Busy Bee & Making Plans For The Future
I’ve spent much of this month making plans for the future – the short-term future but never-the-less being sure to keep myself busy, busy, busy! Not only have I booked a holiday, but I’ve also put together a list of ideas for the following fourteen days half term holiday. With a little luck we are off out to Blackpool, Manchester and all around the Lakes.
We’ve just booked to see Al Murray with friends and following this we will be celebrating our sons birthday in the tree-top nets. Not long after that, I will off for on a hen do in Leeds with family and friends, then shortly after that we will be attending the wedding and it won’t be long before the count down to summer. Time seems to be flying by especially when there isn’t time to stop!
Half Term
Half term has finally arrived, thank the gods as we are all in much-need of a well-deserved rest. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve got plenty planned but with a little luck, we won’t be rushing around quite as much as during our usual routine.
Mothers Day
Finally, I’ve had a very happy Mothers Day – Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums, Grandmothers, Foster Mums, Step-Mums or those who play the role of Mother in someone’s life. I have been spoilt rotten with cards, flowers, chocolates, Prosecco and a brand new diary to keep the household on top of things for the next year or so.
