June has flown by in what seems like a flash, the summer has well and truly arrived as we’ve had almost endless sunshine for the past month and despite being pale and pasty, I’m quite enjoying the extra rays.
Looking back it doesn’t seem like we’ve done an awful lot this past month but I’ve barely stopped for a second. I have listed some of my favoured moments from the month in this months instalment of things which I have #LikedandLoved
Getting Back To Blogging
As you may have (or not have) noticed I took a bit of a break from blogging, it was for almost a month in total and whilst I think the break did me some good I have to admit, it was pretty good to get back to the Macbook.
The Summer Sun
We’ve had more than a month of scorching sunshine and whilst I may be pasty pale, I’ve rather enjoyed having the chance to soak up some rays. I really ought to look into getting a sun-lounger but until then my ‘makeshift’ yoga mat and deck chair will have to make do.
Rocking The Dance Floor
It’s not often that Paul and I get the chance to go out. When given the night to ourselves we therefore made the very best of our time; we went out for drinks, shared a beautiful meal and then hit the dance floor until the early hours. I had the most fantastic night and hope to have a repeat performance in a few weeks time.
Beach Riding
I finally made use of my beach riding voucher this month and spent two glorious hours riding along the shore. I had the most wonderful time riding Pandora and hope to fit in a few extra gallops before the stables shut come Autumn.
Sports Day Smiles
Our little lady had her first sports day the other week and despite not coming in first place, E was more than happy to reach the finish line and to celebrate her success. Both J & E did ever so well and I for one was an incredibly proud parent.
Our Beautiful Ballerina
Earlier this month E made a start upon dance lessons in which she is practicing ballet and tap dance. We have since collected a leotard, ballet slippers and two sets of tap shoes all of which are now being proudly paraded by our beautiful ballerina each week.
Meals Out With Friends
It’s been years since Paul and I have had the chance to enjoy a meal at the Blacksmiths, it was once the pub/ restaurant at which we would celebrate almost every birthday, anniversary and special occasion. It was therefore rather special to spend an evening with our close friends Lisa, Patrick, Vicky and Mike enjoying a meal. Here’s hoping we can do something similar before our Tazzie pals head home.
Gala Days
We’ve spent two out of four of our Saturdays celebrating local Gala days with our children. The weather was wonderful on both occasions and after fuelling ourselves with burgers, ice cream and lord knows how many cakes we headed home to cool down in the paddling pool.
Drinks At The Ski Bar
Each Friday we take the kids to the local roller disco where they practice rollerblading, skooting and skating around whilst having endless amounts of fun. With the light nights we’ve extended our evenings by taking ourselves to the local ski bar for a few drinks before calling it a night.
Swegway Success
It’s been almost two years since we bought J his swegway and although he was delighted with his groovy gadget he’s barely used his balance board. This week though I took his swegway along to the roller disco and low and behold J finally jumped on and got the jist of it!
It was so lovely to see our little lad so happy and riding with confidence. Here’s hoping that he may make more regular use of his rather expensive gadget!

Sure have !
It sounds like you’ve had a fab month – there have been lots of Gala days round here too. A roller disco sounds like so much fun – glad to hear J is getting the hang of his segway 🙂 Sorry for the super late commenting btw 🙂 #LittleLoves
