With January coming to a close, I have taken the time to reflect upon the past thirty-one days and to write down the highlights from month gone by. So without further ado, here are some of the things which I have #LikedandLoved during January.
New Year
We celebrated the New Year in style with family and friends who came to visit, those who were unable to join us (as they were on the other side of the Earth) we spent time video-chatting with and overall we had a fun-filled, festive start to the year.
Routine Returned
Following what felt like quite a lengthy holiday, the children relished getting back into a routine. I too have rather enjoyed getting back into the swing of the daily grind, I feel that I function far better with routine than without.
An Evening Out
Despite rushing here, there and everywhere to ensure that Christmas was covered, Paul and I have barely spent any time together over the past few months. We were therefore extremely grateful to my folks when they had both J & E overnight, relieving us of our duties and allowing us to get out, to enjoy a meal and to spend a few hours on the dance floor.
Ikea & Furniture Fever
Following Santa’s delivery of E’s new furniture for her bedroom, J was rather keen to acquire some of his own. Paul and I therefore made time to make yet another trip to Ikea where we collected two brand new units for J and a set of drawers for the office. Having spent time piecing and putting together said furniture, both J’s room and the office are now awesomely organised.
Blogging & New Linkies
As the new year arrived, I decided to add a new linky to my blog. That, and to join in with a few new linkies myself, which has resulted in having far more structure for the year ahead in terms of blogging. My Sunday Snapshot seems to be a fairly popular linky so far, I have certainly enjoyed looking through the photos which are shared each week and am really enjoying hosting the linky.
Snow Way
Earlier this week we were graced with the white stuff as we finally saw some snow. Whilst school was still open, the kids still had plenty of fun throughout the day and made the best of the baltic weather conditions.
Film Frenzy
Throughout the month we have spent time snuggling on the sofa watching an array of films together as a family. From the old to the new, we’ve enjoyed all kinds of movies including Mary Poppins, The Incredibles 2, Christopher Robin, Sister Act and many more.
Parking Like A Pro
I passed my driving test way back in 2004, I’ve since built many years of experience on the roads but have never been all that when it comes to parking. Having bought the car of my dreams I didn’t really fancy scratching the paintwork whilst parking so decided to call my local instructor for a few ‘top up lessons’ to increase my confidence when it comes to parking. I don’t care whether you wish to mock me, I am over the moon with the results as whilst I didn’t really have a problem as such, I have far more confidence now when it comes to getting into the car and that has made a world of difference for me.
Boots, Boots and more Boots
If you should know anything about me, it’s that I love shoes. There will never be enough shoes (or handbags come to think of it) in my life. I therefore found it very difficult whilst choosing a single pair of boots for the winter, thus I bought not one but three pairs of boots!
Out With The Old and In With The New!
Not only have I been updating the furniture but I’ve also found quite a few bits and pieces around the house which have required replacing. I have spent the past few weeks ordering new bread bins, new light fittings, new hooks and an entire new wardrobe for our son J. January has most certainly been out with the old and in with the new!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed reading what I #LikedAndLoved in January.
