We’ve had such an incredibly active and fun-packed month, here are a few of the things which I have #LikedandLoved throughout April.
Paul’s Birthday
Paul turned the grand age of thirty-six earlier this month, he is technically therefore a year older than me now. Thus, I can and will spend the next four months reminding him and ribbing him regarding our age gap.
Blackpool Sandcastle
To celebrate Paul’s birthday we took the kids out for an afternoon swimming at Blackpool’s Sandcastle Waterpark. We bought wristbands to ride all the slides and the both the kids and us adults had the most amazing day.
Grizedale Forest
During the half term holidays, my husband and I took the kids and the dog for a trip to Grizedale Forest where we ventured around the ‘Zog Trail’ finding stars, listening to magical, melodic trees and enjoying the fresh air as a family.
Film Fest
During the half term we enjoyed a number of films including Disney’s latest version of Dumbo and Mary Poppins Returns. It was great to get out to the cinema and to enjoy movies on the big screen.
Time Out
Having bagged ourselves a babysitter for the night, Paul and I managed a couple of nights out together to enjoy food, live music and time together without the little ones.
Beach Days
We had a taste of summer with almost a week of blue skies and sunshine. We wasted no time therefore in getting ourselves down to the beach to make the most of the wonderful weather.
Awesome Easter
The kids enjoyed an awesome easter-egg hunt in and around the house. They spent almost an hour collecting cryptic clues which lead them to a treasure trove filled with chocolate, money, books and fluffy toys.
Family Photo Shoot
Every couple of years we make a booking with our local photographer to carry out a family photo shoot. This year we took my parents along with us to take some shots (the one above I snapped myself) and I cannot wait to see how they turned out.
Our Little Mermaid
Having spent the past month or so learning how to swim, E has now achieved her Level One Certificate (and badge!) which she is super pleased with. E seems to be a pro in the pool and is now working her way towards level two.
Blog Makeover
Having spent the past two years with the same blog logo and colour-scheme I decided to come up with something a little different. I spent a few hours drawing pictures of the kids which I then played around with on my Mac and made a new logo from, this has now been uploaded along with a new colour-scheme giving my blog a bit of a makeover.
Drum Lessons
J has had his heart set on learning how to play and to get his own of drums for a little while. I’ve already ordered him an electronic drum kit for his birthday (which isn’t too far away now) and he has recently started taking drum lessons with a local teacher. He may have only had two lessons so far but already he’s well and truly impressed me with his work and seems to have a new-found hobby.
