April sure has been a busy month – we seem to have such an incredible amount in such a short space of time. I wouldn’t say that time has exactly flown as it’s felt like forever waiting for pay-day but I’ve certainly kept myself entertained and exhausted throughout the month. Here are a few of the things which I have #LikedandLoved throughout April.
We Added A Further Four Paws To Our Family
We’ve been planning on getting a puppy for some time now and earlier this month we did precisely that. Maisy, our beautiful basset hound was eight weeks old when she came to us and since arriving she has made herself right at home and is growing at an incredible pace.
The Easter Break
With getting the puppy we were pretty busy over the Easter holidays. Thankfully we were blessed with some pretty awesome weather which allowed us to get out into the garden and to make the best of our time together as a family.
Catching Up With The Cousins
Every so often my brother-in-law Robbie, his lovely wife Hannah and their beautiful boy George pop up for a visit. During the Easter break we had the chance to spend time with Robbie and George meanwhile the kids got to catch up with their cousins.
Proud Parents
Despite being off school due to various bugs and ailments, E somehow managed to win the Lighthouse Award for a second time this year. Our little lady is super smart and we couldn’t be prouder of her progress at school.
Not only is our little lady doing incredibly well but our wonderful son J is also making amazing progress in School. J isn’t entirely keen upon Literacy but recently he has made an incredible improvement in this area. His writing work was recently featured upon the schools ‘Writing Hall of Fame’ along with his photo. Whats more, J is now reading for pleasure and is spending his free time with his head firmly wedged between the covers of a book.
Not in a million years did I ever expect to see J reading for relaxation and enjoyment. I couldn’t be prouder of our little man and only hope he continues to make such fantastic progress.
Back To Blading
Following receiving some rather swish roller blades for his birthday, Paul seemed to spark a blading craze as the kids both fancied giving it a go too. We have since purchased each and every one of us a pair of roller blades and have partaken in weekly roller-discos.
Both Paul and I have managed to get back to blading with ease, we are now working upon mastering tricks such as jumps, spins, blading upon a single wheel and blading backwards.
Paul’s Birthday
Earlier this month Paul turned the grand age of thirty-five. We celebrated by spending the day together as a family whilst eating vast quantities of cake.
Sparkly Clean
I’ve certainly got into the spring cleaning as this month we managed to clean our oven from top to bottom and defrost both of our freezers. Whilst these jobs might not sound taxing they have been something which have been meaning to do for quite some time but putting on the back-burner. I’ve finally got an oven which I can look into and freezers which open freely without battling against the barricades of ice.
Back To Box Sets
It’s been forever and a day since I’ve watched a decent box set. Years back I was devoted to watching ‘Desperate House Wives’ and since then I’ve craved something similar yet never found anything of interest. Since purchasing a Netflix subscription I have started watching ‘Orange Is The New Black’ and both Paul and I are hooked.
Beach In The Saddle
Having been given a riding voucher for my birthday, I finally got around to booking a beach ride. Sure, this may have been almost ten months later but still I did it and it was the most fantastic afternoon. I have already booked my next ride and cannot wait to get back into the saddle.
Shoes, Shoes and More Shoes
I will admit, I have a bit of a thing for shoes. This month I have treated myself to a brand new pair of Regatta walking boots, Skecher go walks, Skecher sandals and Rocketdog Chelsea boots. I know it sounds a little over the top but my feet have already thanked me for making more placing comfort over style. I just need to look into buying some larger shoe storage options as otherwise we may run out of room for my never-ending collection of footwear.
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed reading what I #LikedAndLoved in April.

Horse riding on the beach looks amazing – and your puppy is so, so cute! x
Love the idea of roller blading. I’ve not done it in such a long time. I think my eldest would be keen to do it too.
Aww what a lovely round up! We have a pug who’s just turned one called Daisy, they grow up so quick, Maisy looks super cute!
I love your new sandles too!
Thanks xxxx
