It’s official, J has finished year two and is therefore no longer an ‘Infant’. I was fully aware that my emotions may get the better of me and had already loaded my pockets with tissues should the tears flow as I watched him coming out from his classroom this afternoon.
I felt slightly tearful for a moment or two, that was until I found myself jumping for joy and throwing my arms proudly around my gorgeous little man as I realised that he had been awarded with the ‘Lighthouse Award’, a weekly award which is given to one student from each class in the school to celebrate their success in a particular area). I knew how much this meant to J and couldn’t have been happier that he had been awarded this on the final week of his time as an Infant.
As soon as we arrived home I grabbed my phone to check the reasons for J’s award, I felt so pleased when I read “for increasing confidence and joining in well with all activities”. My heart swelled with pride and I had to hold myself from sobbing. To distract myself from eye-leaking I phoned the husband to pass on the good news, Paul was so pleased that J is now sat grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst playing Mario Maker with Daddy’s special permission.
I am sooooo super-duper proud of J, what a fabulous start to what will hopefully be a super summer holiday!
