In the words of ‘Coca Cola’ “the holidays are coming”. The kids have officially finished for Christmas and we have one week to go before all hell breaks loose. Well actually hell has already broken loose in our household…
Party Time
As expected the kids each had a Christmas party to attend which luckily fell on the same day to dampen the flames of sibling rivalry. E wore a simple Christmas patterned swing dress which just so happens to match my own Christmas swing dress, yes I too was sucked into matching Christmas outfits for Mums and Babes.
J on the other hand had to go to school in his uniform much to his disgust and then change into his party outfit that afternoon. I sent him with a pair of jeans, a nice t-shirt, a checkered shirt and skater shoes to complete the ensemble. He had his hair waxed into ‘skater dude’ style earlier that morning but as he wore a Santa hat I doubt it was very styled by mid-afternoon.
As it turns out they both had a fantastic time celebrating Christmas with their friends. E was particularly impressed as her nursery had a special visit from the big man in red. E was so excited by Santa’s visit that she literally wet herself! It’s the first accident E has had whilst in Nursery, it was lucky that I had packed spare clothes. I guess all the excitement literally spilled out, bless!
The Holidays Are Coming And Chickenpox Has Come To Roost
We were really looking forward to meeting up with the in-laws and my beautiful nephew as they are visiting from London. Unfortunately we awoke yesterday to find E covered head to toe in spots, it seems the chickens have come to roost for chrimbo under our roof well obviously with it coming up to Christmas E is bound to get sick as it’s her annual tradition.
We are now housebound thanks to the chicken pox which E is coping extremely well with considering.
I was rather saddened and surprised to find that the good calamine lotion seems to have disappeared from the shelves and has been replaced with expensive counterparts.
Who the hell wants to make business from children’s illnesses? After emptying my wallet at the pharmacy counter we are now armed with copious amounts of Calpol and creams to help soothe the itch.
How sodding typical is it though? Every year without fail E seems to come down with some bug or other. Let’s hope that by this time next week with it being the big day in less than seven days E is a little better.
I am so almost ready now, I have wrapped 95% of the parcels and have sent out all my cards. I have a few items to deliver here and there but otherwise I am feeling a lot more sorted than I would have expected at this point especially considering the set backs we are currently facing.
Fingers crossed that all being well by this time next week we will be sat with a glass of vino relaxing whilst the kids play happily and healthily with their new toys!

Be fine by Sunday. Rubbish about calamine lotion it was really effect too 🙁
Sending healthy thoughts for the rest of the week. Has your son had them?
Yes thankfully my son has had them
Bloody typical isn’t it ! I’m glad she’s coping well with them though. You have done well to be so organised with everything else going on. I’ve just got the Christmas eve hamper to sort and I’ve not written any cards oops. #TuesdayTreasures
Chicken pox is horrible, but, in my experience, children are better catching it while they are young, it doesn’t seem to effect them so badly, as when they get older, get well soon everyone and Merry Christmas!#tuesday treasures
She has some really sore spots sadly
Poor guy, Hope he rebounds soon. Have a great Christmas Rachel
Hopefully she’ll be fine give or take a few days x
Oh no hope E feels better by christmas day! I’m sure Father Christmas coming will make her feel better. Have a lovely Christmas. #tuesdaytreasures

Oh no, sorry to hear about the chickenpox! We are all done with that (took a whole month back in March 2015), and I know what it’s like. I hope it doesn’t ruin your Christmas plans too much, and mainly that E isn’t too uncomfortable and miserable with it! Good luck and Merry Christmas #TuesdayTreasures
Thanks Sara she is being sooo brave.
Oh no! At least she’ll probably be over the worst of it by the big day. She looks pretty unfazed too!
