Dear E
It’s official, you are now a ‘threenager’! It has been three whole years since I first locked eyes with the most beautiful girl in the World. You have the biggest, sparkly hazel eyes with that little fleck in one eye which makes you so unique.
I remember how your perfect rosebud lips sat gently pursed as your tiny fingers wrapped around my little finger gripping not only my hand but my heart forever.
Your arrival completed our family. We were lucky enough to be graced with ‘one of each’ and you were the sparkly, pink icing on our rather delicious cake.
You made our little man into the most perfect big brother, you instantly became his best friend for life. I am so proud of how he cares for you with such gentle hands and such a loving heart. There are also times when I could quite happily bang your heads together…Siblings through and through!
I’m not sure where or why I dreamt up the notion that girls were easier than boys but rest assured you have taught me otherwise over time.
I won’t lie, we have found certain points throughout the past three years more than challenging, you have really put us through our paces young lady! I can assure you that each and every hurdle has been worth the jump.
They say that second time around parents are more relaxed, having learnt the tricks of the trade from bringing up the first born. You couldn’t be anymore different from your brother, you are his complete opposite and we have found that what may have been easy first time round, was far from plain sailing second time over.
You are so clever, you seem to pick things up at the drop of a hat and in very little time have perfected skills that even I, thirty years your senior would find hard to master!
You love Music, my heart swells when I watch you dancing, signing and playing random instruments as if it’s second nature. You are so tiny and yet so talented!
You blow me away with your confidence, you jump in with both feet first, your outlook upon life is inspirational.
I am dreading waving Goodbye to you at the nursery door in a few weeks time. I know it’s only for the mornings but that time was ours, it’s now yours my darling… Time to make new friends, to learn, to discover and to enjoy. I know that you will be just fine, you are like a duck to water when it comes to socialising and as for everything else, you’ll pick it up and no doubt be bossing the nursery children and possibly staff around in no time.
I am incredibly lucky to have been able to spend each day with you for the past three years. I have watched proudly as you have grown into the amazing little lady that you now are. Each and every day has been a pleasure to spend with you, my little ‘mini-me’ learning to take the World in your own stride, giving everything that comes your way your absolute all, full throttle, no fear!
Happy Third Birthday to you, my beautiful, amazing, stunning, cheeky, funny, cute and clever little Princess.
I love you to the moon and back.
Lots of hugs, cuddles, nose rubs and kisses
Mummy

How beautiful to read! such a gorgeous piece of writing for a gorgeous little girl. Happy 3rd Birthday! #TuesdayTreasures
Thanks Nicola x
Really lovely writing. My little lady turned 3 on Saturday and I have an almost finished post along the same lines. I’ve found this 3rd birthday so emotional. So many things are about to change (nursery, a new baby) and I’m really going to miss the time we’ve had together the past 3 years. But we’ll get used to it. And we’ll make the most of the rest of our time together, now that it’ll be less.
Happy 3rd birthday to your little one! x
