The country is slowly starting to return to its former self. Shops are starting to open and we’re now allowed to do more things outside. Unfortunately, some rules still haven’t changed and even if we were allowed to mix indoors again, people might still be a little concerned about going out and hanging out with friends and family members indoors. This is especially true for people that are vulnerable.
As such, your child might be faced with another birthday in lockdown-like conditions. If that’s the case, then we’ve prepared a couple of tips to help you out. In this article, we’ll be sharing some ways to help you host a fantastic birthday party with your kids even during these uncertain conditions.
Go all-out with a theme that they love
If your child is still a little sad about being able to see their friends on their birthday, then you’ll want to try and distract them by really going all-out with a birthday theme they love. For example, you could look at creating a Harry Potter themed party if they really love fantasy books and films. This is a fantastic idea if you know what kind of franchises they like. You have plenty of time to get costumes and decorations, and it can be a real surprise when they wake up and feel like they’ve been transported to a fantasy world with their favourite characters and themes.
This can take a lot of time and it’ll require a bit of planning. However, with a bit of time and money investment, you can achieve fantastic results that will really surprise your child. To make it even better, why not consider cooking some food that imitates dishes in their favourite show or franchise? It’ll add to the experience and make it a whole lot more enjoyable!
The goal is to make it different from a normal day
The biggest consideration here is that you want to make it seem like it’s more than a normal day. If you do things that you normally do on a regular day off then it’s going to seem boring and uninspired. You want to try new things and do unique activities that your kids aren’t used to. You should try to make the day all about your child, so why not consider doing stuff that you normally wouldn’t?
From dressing up in a costume with them or even playing their favourite video games together, there are lots of unique ways to set the day apart. You could even let them stay in their pyjamas all day or even stay up later than they’re usually allowed. Whatever you do for your child’s birthday party, it needs to be drastically different from what they’re used to.
Get messages from their friends and loved ones
If you plan to stick to the rules, then the least you could do is ask all of their friends and family members to send messages. Whether it’s a quick video recording or even a written message, show that their friends and loved ones are thinking of them and try to help them stay in touch.
