And just like that, my son is officially a teenager. Boy, those thirteen years sure flew by quickly!
Whilst I’d toyed with the idea of waking J extra early this morning to allow for time to open all his gifts, I decided against doing so as I figured he’d be too tired and would not only appreciate the extra minutes in bed but would most likely rather open his gifts with his family later this afternoon.
J came downstairs at the usual time this morning, he then opened a few bits and pieces whilst eating breakfast with his sister then much to his disgruntlement, he went to get ready for his day at school. Hopefully, his day will go by quickly, then he can return home to spend time with his family and of course, with his gifts which I’m sure he will be rather entertained by.
We are hoping to travel to Blackpool tomorrow where we plan to spend the day at The Pleasure Beach to further celebrate J’s big day. He has suggested that he’s hoping to ride the coasters, whether he’ll brave it onto ‘The Big One’ is yet to be determined.
I still can’t quite believe that it’s been thirteen years since I first held J in my arms, there’s certainly no way I could cradle him in my arms these days as he towers above me, he’s certainly grown into an incredibly handsome and talented young man and I couldn’t be a prouder parent.
Happy 13th Birthday J – We love you to the moon and back xxx

It’s always a bit of a shock when your baby turns into a teenager! (wait until they hit their 30s, lol) I hope J had a lovely day and you managed to get to Blackpool x
