Welcome to this weeks #LivingArrows post, a weekly post in which I share a couple of snaps taken of my wonderful children (I swear there’s not a hint of sarcasm there at all!)
Half term is officially over, the kids have returned to routine and I’ve found myself able to finally focus and get a few things done around the house. No longer am I swamped by piles of post awaiting reading or filing, the house is mostly clean and I have even been able to catch up with a few soaps whilst getting some work done.
I am yet to address the ever-growing email inbox, transfer and file my photos, that and assist J with both his thank you letters and outstanding homework over the next week or so. I’ve at least ploughed through plenty of jobs this morning whilst the kids were out and feel a certain sense of satisfaction from having ticked a few boxes.
With the return of the routine has also come a return of the rain. The sunshine seems to have packed it bags and gone elsewhere for the time being which is sodding typical timing as we’ve literally just finished our garden makeover which is now of no use whatsoever until the weather plays ball.
Here are a couple of shots taken of the kids during the half term following the completion of the garden work, the kids adore their new space and rather than resting upon their IPads or lolling in front of the television they have been kept busy both in and outdoors with active or constructive play.
Happy Hopper
Having emptied the garden shed I found a fair amount of garden toys I had half forgotten, one of which was this space hopper. I have since ordered a matching hopper so that the children can have races that and quit squabbling over whose turn it is to hop on the hopper!
Loopy For Lego
Following receiving an abundance of Lego models for his birthday J has been kept busy building numerous pirate ships and such like. As E tends to follow in her brothers footsteps we knew all too well that she too would also require some Lego models to put together and play with, heres her latest Lego addition, ‘The Frozen Ice Palace’ very kindly brought back from South Africa by my parents earlier this week.
I spent quite a few hours putting this together and whilst it is certainly a ‘smashing piece of kit’ it isn’t exactly the sturdiest of models so I found having carefully placed it upon a shelf in E’s room to later find it smashed into smithereens across her carpet.
I am yet to rebuild said castle, I’ve made a start but my heart doesn’t seem be in it second time around. I’m still seething at the fact that my hard work went to waste, I should really ‘let it go’ (pardon the pun) and get back into building the damn thing.
E loves Lego, she will happily sit playing with her sets for hours and whilst E may start School come September she is technically still only three-years old and seems to look after her Lego a damn site better than her older brother who sets my OCD on edge and drives me up the wall by dismantling and randomly piecing together his Lego figures then placing them in random sets.
Thanks again for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

We are huge Lego fans in our house – and J looks an absolute pro on that hopper! I cannot wait until you share photos of their races! x
It’s arrived but needs blowing up !!!
