Welcome to this weeks edition of #LittleLoves, it is soooo almost the summer holidays and we are all on ‘wind down’ to prepare for some quality family time without the daily school regime and random after school clubs. I am looking forward to the free time together without commitments to kick back, relax and just be a family.
I would hazard a guess that this weeks #LittleLoves aren’t anything particularly inspiring or even interesting but for me they are moments that have raised a smile and made my heart swell over the past seven days or so.
Read
I recently completed reading ‘A Year In The Life Of A Playground Mother‘, a light-hearted, laugh per minute read which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was pleased to learn that Christie had written a sequel titled ‘The Midadventures Of A Playground Mother‘ which I purchased shortly after finishing the final chapter of her first book.
Having enjoyed Christie’s Barlow’s books I decided to follow her on Twitter and was quite taken aback and rather humbled when I saw that she had followed me back this week, not only that but she had also taken the time to reply to my tweets!!!
I have only just started reading ‘The Misadventures Of A Playground Mother‘ but I have already found myself laughing out loud as I read. I look forward to spending more of my time delving back into the tales of outlandish characters such as Penelope and BB aka Botox Bernie.
Watched
My husband insisted that we spend some time actually watching a film rather than the usual soaps and random comedy quiz shows that we tend to end up watching most evenings. He had already selected a film which he felt I would enjoy given that Daniel Radcliffe starred as the main role. We are both huge fans of the Harry Potter films and following that we also enjoyed watching further films starring Daniel Radcliffe including ‘What If‘ and this week ‘Horns‘.
I have to say it was a fairly bizarre film in all honesty, a great storyline similar to that of Romeo and Juliet but with a little bit of Hellboy thrown in for good measure. I really enjoyed the film, it was a bit of an emotional whirlwind whilst also quite creepy at points, I found myself grabbing a cushion for cover every now and then! Despite the ending being slightly disappointing it is certainly worth a watch.
Heard
I finally got around to watching Adele‘s set at Glastonbury, I really enjoy Adele‘s Music but have to admit I had never really heard her talk before. Without being rude, when I first heard her speak I seriously thought that she was trying to imitate a Catherine Tate sketch, then I realised that this was just how she spoke.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Adele is an amazing artist and her Music is stunningly beautiful but I just wasn’t expecting her to sound quite like she did, it certainly raised a smile as I listened to her potty mouthing live on BBC. The level of maturity in her musical performances certainly does not echo that of what comes out of her mouth when she speaks, it was not what I expected at all but then again if life was as I expected it’d be fairly boring!
If you fancy a watch for yourself then you can still view Adele‘s Glastonbury set here.
Made
I have once again been spending time at my sewing machine as I was asked to make some bunting for a friends new addition. I was fairly pleased with the outcome and am now umming and arring whether to order some new fabrics for my future projects.
Wore
I recently ordered some new tops online to help cover my ‘wobbly bits’ whilst giving me some ventilation for the summer months. I hate my figure as it is and one day I will do something about it. Until then I will continue to wear floaty tops and run a mile from anything slightly figure hugging, other than jeggings, leggings and such like which are unavoidable as they are stretchy, comfy and tend to do the job when you wake up bleary eyed without the foggiest as to what you might wear that day.
And Lastly
J has had a number of events recently which I feel I ought to share as I am incredibly proud of his efforts, hard work and determination to succeed.
Firstly there was Sports Day which I am fairly sure that I mentioned in a previous post, J took part in three races in total and came away with a first, second and third rosette which are now proudly secured to his bedside.
Secondly, we received J’s school report which was fairly good all things being considered.
Thirdly, J took part in his school fun run this week giving it his full effort with a smile on his face the full way round the course, I couldn’t have asked for better and may have sneakily handed him some Dairy Milk after he caught his breath back.
Finally, J took part in the School Arts Festival this week. His artwork was featured in the display and he took part in reading a poem out loud and singing even taking part in the actions which is something he never usually does as part of a group to a large audience. I was so proud to see J giving it a go, he has grown up so much recently and I can barely believe that he will no longer be an ‘infant’ as of next week. Time has literally flown by and come September I will have to refer to ‘my little baby boy’ as a Junior… oh my days!
Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing your#LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your#LittleLoves might be.

I am very proud
I’m absolutely loving J’s artwork! No wonder it is in a frame, it’s brilliant! Great bunting too. (and I know what you mean about Adele, I felt the same way!)
I also liked the movie “Horns” as well, though it certainly has a dark ending. #weekendblogshare
Yeh the ending wasn’t quite what I was hoping for
I love bunting and once made my own for the Royal wedding party but I have to say it didn’t look as good as yours! We just had the school reports out too and my son has done very well so we’re all smiles today. #weekendblogshare
