A New Year, A New Me – My Weight Loss Mission

The New Year has arrived and with it I’d like to work upon a ‘new me’. Since having the children I have piled on the pounds and quite frankly I am fed up of being the size that I am.

Each and every morning I dread having to get dressed simply because I hate how my clothes feel tight and look far from flattering. I have spent the past year or two dressing in over sized cardigans, swing dresses and anything ‘floaty’ to cover the flab.

A New Year, A New Me

It is high time I did something about my weight issues and what better way to fight the flab than to kick start the new year with a diet?

A New Year, A New Me - My Weight Loss Mission

As of tonight I will be rejoining my local Slimming World group in an attempt to shed some pounds and regain some self-confidence.

Shortly after enquiring as and when my local Slimming World meetings currently run my good friend M contacted me through Facebook to let me know that she too will be joining. We have decided to go together to keep each other company and for moral support.

Here’s hoping that together both M and I can lose a little some serious weight by sticking to the Slimming World plan to skinny down!

Best of luck, loosing weight is so difficult, isn’t it, personally, until I suffered a stroke, I never had a weight problem, but being disabled, hasn’t done much to help, I have several friends, who have attended slimming world, with great success

I feel exactly the same, but I haven’t even got time to attend slimming world, you would think running round after seven would keep me slim, but I’m heavier than i’ve ever been, need to do something, just not sure what yet. Good luck with it, I shall be following to see how you get on x

Lots of luck – I hope you achieve your goals! I’m on a weight-loss (or health gain ha) mission too – I did WeightWatchers Online in November (as it’s cheaper!) but did do Slimming World for a month a couple of years ago and lost 1 stone. I have a good track record at sticking to things well for a month then falling off the wagon! I guess ultimately I need to change my eating habits forever which is the tough part. I’m doing lots of walking with the school and playgroup runs too which helps and a bit of yoga.

I think I must have put on at least a stone over Christmas. I’m back on the weight loss today! x

I am trying to lose weight this year, I am the heaviest I have ever been and it just makes me feel so blegh whenever I get dressed or if I see a photo of myself or my reflection. I hope that it goes well for you and M. I think having a friend on the same path is really helpful for motivation!

Lots of luck Rachel and it’s great that you have your friend going with you for moral support. I really need to get back to my local SW. I lost nearly 3 stone a few years back and I know I can do it. Just that damn willpower and chocolate gets in the way x

I am doing the exact same thing with my BFF, I really want to lose the stone I seem to have accumulated in the last year, started yesterday and survived the first cakeless day…sob #tuesdaytreasures
