The Daily Positives Project – One Week Later

It has been one week since I first began ‘The Daily Positives Project’. Whilst I have enjoyed identifying the positive points from each day, I don’t feel that my posts necessarily make for good reading. I will therefore be drawing my project to a close at this point but will continue to make a mental note of the ‘positive points’ from each day in an attempt to keep the ‘good vibes’ flowing. Upon reflection I believe that identifying even one positive per day can have a beneficial impact upon your outlook towards life. I have felt a particular zest for life this week and that may or may not be down to ending each day by posting my positives, who knows! I will simply say that highlighting the good points from each day can certainly help to deflect from focusing on the negative aspects from your day-to-day life. Looking for positive points seems to make you seek the smiles rather than the sadness, that in itself is a great skill in today’s World. So for a final time, here are the positive points from today: We sat down as a family and watched an awesome movie. Whilst E may have been happier playing ‘slides’ on her… View Post

Feeling Good- The Daily Positives Project 13/08/2016

I’m feeling good today, I finally managed to get a full night of uninterrupted sleep despite random dreams about inflatable cow-print cubes landings from space and bouncing around the countryside… I bet you’re wondering what I’ve been smoking, I assure you that these kind of dreams are fairly normal for me and no drugs were involved. So without further ado, here are the top three moments from today: Paul painted the vestibule and fixed the garden fence, two jobs which have been on the ‘to do list’ for some time now. It looks loads better and smells fresh too. I finished two sets of bunting for my family and friends. Whilst the kids may not have slept very well last night my parents have offered to have them overnight next week, it’s so lovely to get some time to ourselves, it certainly makes getting DIY jobs done a whole lot easier. The Daily Positives Project 12/08/2016

Welcome once again to yet another episode of ‘The Daily Positives Project’ where I list three things from the past twenty-four hours which have been…well fairly alright all things considered! The children are being babysat by my parents this evening, I am fairly convinced that they are most likely still awake and causing chaos but at least we are being given a small break from the terrors that cause us to try growing eyes in our arse! We have had a lovely meal out together without the gurning of a small child complaining that they “not like thems”. My rather lovely new sarong arrived in the post this afternoon and whilst I will have to wait at least twelve months to wear said sarong I do so love the bright pink tie dye design that I chose. That’s about it really, I am now going to collapse on the sofa and catch up on the soaps without any interruptions from children, bliss! Thanks for reading and if you feel like joining me then I’d love to read your posts, be sure to add a link in a comment below.

The Daily Positives Project 11/08/2016

It’s that time of day for yet another ‘daily positives’ post. I apologise for the lack of more general blog posts, I am managing to post on a daily basis but most of my posts do seem to be through this new project. I will aim to try and write some other posts shortly. It’s been a fairly busy week so far, once things settle down and I somehow gain more time I am sure that I will find other things to post. Without any further waffle, here are my high points from today: First thing this morning I was visited by the wonderful ‘Rebecca’, a mobile beauty technician who kindly gave me these bad boys. I love my new nails despite struggling to pick up small change from my purse. I will continue to persevere as quite frankly anything this sparkly deserves the effort! I attended an interview this afternoon which I feel went fairly well. I left feeling positive which is hopefully a good sign, if anything it gave me yet another experience of being interviewed at the very least. I really enjoyed my shift behind the bar this evening, I was visited by some wonderful friends that made me smile… View Post

The Daily Positives Project 10/08/2016

Welcome to my third instalment of the ‘Daily Positives Project’, I am afraid this post isn’t hugely interesting but sometimes it’s the little things that count… There are bound to be some days when it’s hard to identify a single positive point never mind three! If I’m being brutally honest, I’ve found it really difficult to find anything particularly wonderful about the past twelve hours or so but I’ll try my best… I took J to the dentist and they reassured me that his serrated teeth are perfectly normal for newly formed adult teeth. He has terrific teeth and was the perfect patient so I couldn’t ask for better. We received the funds from the bank for the extension. J learnt how to play Qwirkle and seemed to enjoy spending time playing quietly on the carpet with us. I was incredibly impressed with how well he coped following being beaten by a few points. Usually losing in any shape or form causes J great upset. The boy is growing up and learning to cope with loss, an essential life skill if you ask me. The Daily Positives Project 09/08/2016

Welcome to the second edition of ‘The Daily Positives Project’. I was originally planning to post my positive points first thing each morning. However, this would require me to switch on the laptop first thing after waking, that simply ain’t natural nor particularly healthy. I will therefore be posting my daily positives posts later in the day. Here are three positive points from today: I took part in and passed a telephone interview, I now have a face-to-face interview lined up for Thursday for a part-time role in a company in which I am really keen to work for. Whilst surfing the tin-ter-net today I managed to bag a bargain! I finally ordered a fab wooden swing and slide set ready for E’s Birthday. I managed to get the whole kit and kaboodle for under £200, what a steal! I have located a website filled with bags at bargain prices in hundreds of different styles, shapes and colours. I could quite happily spend hours browsing bags and still not have a clue which ones to order. It’s like handbag porn and that my friend is precisely what floats my boat. Thanks for reading and if you feel like joining me then… View Post
