As you may know from reading my previous posts I have been having a dabble with the World of SnapChat. I’m not 100% certain what I’m doing but with a little help from friends I am starting to get the basic idea. Whilst playing around with the filters I came across the ‘Black Swan’ filter and decided to give it a go. I really liked the result, especially as it gave me such fantastic cheek bones and made me look far prettier than I could ever be in real life. Jeez I may have to start working on my makeup and who knows with a few shovel loads of eyeshadow I could get close, as if! It’s been a dark Sunday, the weather has been dismal to say the least. The clouds rolled over early this afternoon, the rain poured and the sky seemed so grey. It was all a bit gothic in an arty-farty kind of way. It made sharing this photo seem rather apt really… my very own arty-farty, filter dabbling, gothy snap! Happy Sunday Peeps, I hope that you have had a good one! Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with your #MySundayPhoto pictures either through your own… View Post
It’s Sunday, the weekend is officially over and yet I feel like it barely began. We have just and so got back into some kind of a routine and already both Paul and I feel utterly shattered. It’ll be an early night for both of us tonight I think, I for one need to catch up on some serious beauty sleep! I read a meme earlier on Facebook which said “Parenting is like a walk in the park, JURASSIC PARK” and I totally agree, kids somehow mange to knock the stuffing out of us. If we aren’t running around after them then we are busy tidying away their many toys, helping them with their homework, feeding them, bathing them, reading to them, begging them to go to sleep or simply just sitting with them hoping Peppa the sodding Pig might allow us two minutes rest bite. On top of all that there’s work, appointments, chores and life in general which as a parent is never dull. Come Sunday night you are left feeling like an old sock which fell from the laundry basket. Make of that what you will… Here’s a photo I snapped earlier this week when we all had a little more… View Post

Well Christmas officially happened… the living room resembles something between a bomb site and Toys R Us following a richter-scale 7 earthquake. The garage is piled high with half a forests worth of packaging and the sky box has had its storage stretched in a similar fashion to our stomachs following Christmas dinner at my folks. It’s been an epic day, the kids have been spoilt rotten by family, friends and the big man in red. It’s pretty safe to say that all the extra space we have created by extending the house was well worth the time and money as otherwise we may not have had room for the piles of parcels we have very kindly received. Despite being dog tired I have tried my hardest to organise the parcels into neat piles which the kids will obviously feel the need to destroy come morning. I detest mess and cannot cope with clutter so as you can imagine my Christmas evenings are often spent slugging copious amounts of Baileys through clenched teeth whilst desperately trying to block out the disarray which surrounds me. Here is a photo taken first thing this morning when the kids had eaten their breakfast, had a… View Post
As it’s Christmas I thought I ought to share my favourite Christmas decoration with you. This particular ornament was purchased last year whilst holidaying as a family in Disneyland Paris. It was an amazing holiday filled with happy memories especially for the kids. Whenever we visit Disney we always keep a few pennies aside to purchase a few decorations for the tree. This is my current favourite as it reminds me of our first holiday abroad as a family to the place where dreams do indeed come true. Each time I look at the tree and see this decoration I am instantly transported back to Main Street USA where we nipped into the Christmas shop to choose this beauty. Over the years we have collected a fair bit of Disney paraphernalia, I love having Mickey and Minnie dotted around the house to remind me of happy times. I hope to take the kids to Florida one day in the future, until then I will continue to reminisce of those days wandering Mickey land. I’d love to see or hear about your favourite decorations so be sure to comment on this post, drop me an email or get in touch via social media to show… View Post
It’s been a lonnnnnng week filled with appointments, commitments, chores and work not to mention keeping the kids entertained and fitting in a few hours of sleep here or there. This next week is probably going to be fairly similar in that Paul and I will once again be cramming a shit load of jobs into a small space of time whilst attempting to maintain peace in the camp. Life as a parent in the run up to Christmas is much like a clown riding a unicycle and then being thrown endless amounts of balls to juggle whilst keeping balance. It’s hard work and the moment you take your eye off the ball it all comes crashing down around your ankles. After returning home from work on a Sunday there are a few things that Paul, the kids and I do each week to unwind and touch base. Firstly we down tools and kick back on the couch to watch a family movie together. With it being less than a fortnight till Christmas this evenings choice of film Jingle All The Way was naturally another festive delight with a dash of crazy and a smidgen of Arnie for good measure.
